In class, we are finishing Macbeth. Your only homework is to study for the vocabulary quiz on Monday, February 2nd. The words will cover the AG and VEN/VENT words at the beginning of Unit 2. Please review the quizzes on pages 23-24.
Your crossword puzzle will be due on Monday as well.

Midterm Exam
Your exam will consist of a portfolio and an exam. Portfolio instructions and forms are here, available to download in case you need it.
In addition, you will take an exam on Macbeth, Acts I-III. The study guides for each act will help you study. The exam will consist of character identification, 15 multiple choice questions and one short answer question.
Breakdown for grading:
Portfolio: 70 points
Responses to peer portfolio: 10 points
Macbeth test: 20 points
If you need access to a computer or additional assistance on your portfolio, you can see me after school or during period 4 or email me at kerryh@gorhamschools.org.

We are reading Macbeth in class. For the next four weeks (including vacation), you will be required to read at least one independent book OUTSIDE of class. The expectation is you will read for 20 minutes per night, five days a week, minimum. Your book is due by January 16th and you will be required to write a review of this book at that time.

We are taking an accuplacer test on Friday. This will take all period. As a result, your vocabulary quiz on the grav and lev words will be on Tuesday, December 2nd.

Make sure you reach the weekly goal you set for yourself on Monday. You should read at home for at least 20 minutes each night, even if you are on target or ahead of your goal. Your book will be due on Friday, December 5th. Many of you will read more than one book in this time period.
Choose which graphic organizer makes most sense in your packet. You should have half of it done by the end of block day this week.
